Lucknam Park Chef wins Annual Award of Excellence 2010 at The Academy of Culinary Arts
Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, Colerne, Wiltshire is delighted to announce that their Chef de Partie, Mark Stinchcombe, is the winner of the prestigious Award of Excellence at The Academy of Culinary Arts Annual Awards 2010.
22 year old Mark Stinchcombe, who works with the Michelin-starred chef Hywel Jones at the Relais & Châteaux hotel in Wiltshire, won the title following fierce competition at the finals held at Le Gavroche, Le Colombier, The Gleneagles Hotel and Thames Valley University.
Having won the highest mark in his section, Mark was presented with his award by Heston Blumenthal, the Honorary President of the Awards at the Gala Presentation Dinner on Tuesday 20th July at The Dorcester, London.
The Annual Awards of Excellence are a highly respected and an impressive achievement for an aspiring chef, with judges including Heston Blumenthal OBE, Chef Patron, The Fat Duck; John Williams MBE, Executive Chef, The Ritz and Martyn Nail, Executive Chef, Claridge’s.
Hywel Jones, Executive Chef of Lucknam Park Hotel commented: “Everyone at Lucknam Park is thoroughly delighted at Marks recent achievement. Lucknam Park is an AA 5 Red Star Hotel near Bath, and is a member of Relais & Châteaux. Last month the hotel received “Team of the Year Award” from the industry’s professional body the Institute of Hospitality and “UK Independent Hotel of the Year 2010 Award” at the hospitality industry’s Catey Awards.
