New Beginnings..!

New Beginnings…!

Well, this is an exciting time. We are launching our brand new website including lots of new ideas, photographs and technology (for those that know me, technology, not my strong point!). And if that wasn’t an exciting enough challenge, Sara, our Sales & Marketing Director has asked me to write the inaugural Hotel Blog…embracing social media, another first!

So, the first question to Sara, (after ‘What is a Blog?’), was how many words and who is going to read it…?
It has certainly been and will continue to be a busy few months with the rebranding and launching a new website. A little bit of what I have been up too… I recently attended a sales trip to USA and Brazil in April and I will visit Shanghai in June to represent the hotel at ILTM Asia in conjunction with Visit Britain which I am looking forward too.

Since January we have been refurbishing our bedrooms and suites with stunning new bathrooms, which are looking amazing and have been very well received by our guests, this is an ongoing project which will continue until all our rooms are completed.

Something new which I am very excited about at Lucknam Park is we are looking to accept dogs in some of the bedrooms. Watch this space, but we should be welcoming some waggy tails from 1st July! My two Chocolate Labs at home will be very jealous…

TV coverage

You may have seen the new series on BBC2 ‘Chefs on Trial’ with Alex Polizzi – this was a bit of a double-edged sword in that whilst the coverage was great, it meant that we had to say ‘Goodbye’ to Kesh (from the Cookery School) and wishing him well at Gilpin as Executive Head Chef. Gilpin is owned and run by great friends of Lucknam Park, the Cunliffe Family and we are delighted that Kesh has stayed within the R&C family.

As a proud member of R&C – we had great pleasure being involved in November 2014 where The International Congress celebrated the 60th anniversary of this fantastic organisation and the highlight was undoubtedly the masked dinner at the Palais Garnier. Wow! This was an amazing evening and will live long in the memory.

Another new ‘first’ for Lucknam Park is the open air theatre production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company on Sunday 12 July (insert link to page on website).Let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather…

Well, I hope that my first attempt at ‘blogging’ is successful and I will welcome feedback from intrepid web users that do read this and look forward to receiving some ideas for future Blog content…!
Until the next time
