Come and join us at the Lucknam Park Cookery School for one of our brand new taster courses; designed to give you a feel for the school and all that we have on offer. During the taster courses, you will watch a demonstration by Cookery School Head Chef Ben Taylor, cook the dish yourself and then sit down to sample your cooking. This will allow you to have a taste of the fabulous full day classes we have available.
All of our taster courses will run from 6:30pm until 8:30pm, arrival from 6:00pm.
The courses cost £35 per person and are subject to availability.
Cooking Gastro Taster – Wednesday 29th March 2017
The emergence of the Gastropub has made top quality cooking available to a wider audience at a more affordable price. From Tom Kerridge’s Iconic ‘Hand and Flowers’ to local favourites such as the Fox at Broughton Gifford, these culinary hotspots are the new foundations of Britain’s new restaurant scene. Join us in the Cookery School with Head Chef Ben Taylor and learn some of the dishes and techniques that make these places so popular.
Typical dish example: Burdford brown scotch egg and homemade tomato ketchup.
Festival of Spices Taster – Thursday 6th April 2017
This taster course will teach you the regional cuisine of India; a spice journey which will transport you to different regions with powerful flavours.
Typical dish example: Jhinga kebabs, tomato gravy, cumin rice.
Creative Canapes Taster – Tuesday 16th May 2017
The art of creating one bite finger-food is broken down into step by step methods for making a range of canapés and hors d’oeuvres. Comprising almost of a dish within itself, these small bites are full of flavour and can make a great buffet accompaniment or beginning to a meal.
Typical dish example: Parmesan and paprika cheese twist & mushroom and truffle arancini.
Discover Thai Taster – Tuesday 30th May 2017
Thai cooking is very fragrant due to the use of fresh herbs and unique spices which makes it complex in nature. Thai dishes should be crisp and balanced, yet bold on flavours.
Typical dish example: Green Thai seafood curry, baby pak choi, jasmine rice.
Speedy Suppers Taster – Tuesday 27th June 2017
Big on flavour, simple to make and speedy to deliver; learn seasonal dishes that will ensure the midweek meals are healthy, hearty and delicious.
Typical dish example: Roast salmon, butternut squash and chorizo risotto.
