Harry Murray MBE, Chairman of Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa near Bath, has been awarded the AA Life Time Achievement Award, 2013-14.
Harry received the award last night at a glittering Gala Dinner at The London Hilton Park Lane attended by 950 leaders from the hospitality industry. This AA ultimate award recognises a lifetime commitment to the industry delivering the highest quality of service and standards, a track record of constant improvements and an unswerving dedication to customer care.
During his acceptance speech Harry said: “I am privileged, honoured, and delighted to have been chosen for this ultimate Lifetime Achievement Award and to join a list of previous winners that includes Raymond Blanc, Albert & Michel Roux, George Goring and Antonio Carluccio.” Harry also acknowledged the enormous support he had received throughout his career from his wife Susan and family, his mentors and all the people he had worked with during the past six decades managing hotels.
Harry was awarded an MBE in 2005 for services to the hospitality industry; other accolades include a ‘Catey Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2008 – chosen by his peers for his outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry – and ‘Hotelier of the Year’ in 1986.
