Ben Woodward, Operations Manager
Started working in my village pub, went on to study Hospitality Business Development BSc at Bournemouth University, three years at Chewton Glen Hotel in various roles, then joined the Lucknam Park team in 2010 in a guest relations role. Whilst Front Office Manager, I was awarded an Acorn Award and a MIH scholarship to Cranfield School of Management. I have been in my role of Operations Manager for nearly two years.
Why Lucknam Park
On my first visit to Lucknam Park I was instantly impressed and knew straight away that I wanted to work here. It has some amazing features – the setting, the house, the history and the spa. What really made me want to be a part of the team here was the culture, there is genuine care for our guest’s experience and that nothing is too much trouble.
What inspired you to work in hospitality
I originally worked in IT, but through working at my local village pub and in events I realised that I much preferred the variety of experiences available in this industry. I really enjoy meeting lots of different people and the fast paced day to day environment.
When not at Lucknam Park Hotel, how do you spend your time
We are always busy working on various projects from renovating to gardening! My wife and I like to travel, especially to seek out great walking trails with the puppy.
I love my coffee, but it has to be a G&T.
