Nicki Cotton, HR Manager
Started in Conference and Banqueting whilst studying Catering and Hospitality Management at Darlington College of Technology. After having a family I had to leave operations and took up roles within a pig feed company, training provider and education department within two prisons. Returning to hospitality in 2009 taking up the HR Manager role at The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe, then moving onto Macdonald Bath Spa and to Lucknam Park in October 2014.
Why Lucknam Park
Excellent reputation, wanted to be part of a professional and passionate team that really believe in the value of delivering excellent service. Also the look on my family and friends faces when they find out where I work!
What inspired you to work in hospitality
Staying at hotels when travelling with my Dad, loved the experience and the staff always seemed to be enjoying themselves. It is nice to feel that you have played a part in ensuring a guest’s stay has exceeded their expectations. Starting in C&B the need to work as part of a team is evident and the feeling that you are gives you a sense of belonging.
When not at Lucknam Park Hotel, how do you spend your time
Walking my golden Labrador, Oscar, time with family, going to the gym, playing netball and watching rugby – especially Gloucester.
