With so much to do and explore at Lucknam Park, February is the perfect time for a quick escape.
The Bath Bachfest, held between 18th and 20th February, is a 3-day mini music festival celebrating the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries. Held each February in Bath’s stunning period venues, it attracts fine musicians and audiences from across the UK and well beyond.
From 13th February to 5th June, the Holburne Museum is bringing together 28 masterpieces from British public collections to celebrate the Impressionists’ observations of humanity. The show centres on figurative paintings by some of the best-loved impressionists, including Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley.
Finally, the 21st Independent Bath Literature Festival held from 26th February to 6th March, is not to be missed. Take your pick from Sebastian Faulks, Tracy Chevalier, Pat Barker and many more. Other highlights include a leading light in modern feminism, Gloria Steinem, on her first visit to the UK in 20 years, Joan Bakewell, inspiring political campaigner Harry Leslie Smith and Pub Landlord Al Murray.
